The Friends of the Gemeinhaus Site

The Friends of the Gemeinhaus 501c3, helps preserve the 1732 Old Goshenhoppen Gemeinhaus for worship, events, and tours. Educating the public on early the German settlers’ cultural impact on Montgomery County and American history.

Firm Foundation Education Ministry

Since 1732, Old Goshenhoppen has educated children upon our property, Hosting North America’s oldest German built wooden schoolhouse. Our homeschool cooperative, continues a legacy, of uniting families in Christian learning.

The Historic Oyster Picnic

Since 1877, Old Goshenhoppen Church’s Oyster Picnic, is held on the first Saturday after Labor Day and draws crowds with Delaware Bay oysters, music, & Pennsylvania Dutch treats.
